Books Currently Flying in a Holding Pattern

To coincide with my griping from the other day, I have amassed a number of books that I have started to read, and then stalled.  Additionally, two of them are from the library and currently overdue ... I thought that if I am accumulating fines, I would be motivated to finish them.


... I am currently disproving aforementioned theory.


The books, cracked, but not concluded, include:

• The Crying Lot of 49
• How I Became a Famous Novelist
• Life of Pi
• The Pale King
• Stuff Hipsters Hate
• Water for Elephants

... and it is not even necessarily that I dislike what I am reading.  Simply put, I am stuck.  Am I the only one this happens to? How does one remedy this predicament?
